Is My Man Gay (Life on the DL)

How do you know if your  Man Is Gay
When sexuality can be a Mess

I will not profess to be an expert on this subject, but I find some men behavior SUSPECT. I know most  men  are raised by some mother type figure. After 18 years of feminine love, nurturing and upbringing, it's no wonder today's Men have a ton of female tendencies and qualities. Today's men are soft. Listening to them is like listening to a child. They one day become grown male boys wanting a mother figure (relationship) to continue the pacification that started with the female figures in their upbringing. The qualities some women find attractive in men, like "he's so sweet," and "he like flowers just like me," is a sign that "Your man might be gay." I remember going out to a club with some friends and both of them sat next to each other at the bar. The bartender asked "What will you like to drink?" One said a "Pina Colada" and the other said a "Daiquiri" Can you imagine the visuals of 2 burly men sitting right next to each other sipping frozen alcoholic fruit drinks while sucking out of straws. Have you ladies ever paid attention to what a man looks like simulating the art of sucking (Out of a straw). Too much for the senses- if you ask me! It was no surprise when this young lady approached them and asked "Is that Bugle Boy Jeans your wearing?"

The "writings on the wall" when you meet these type of men. Those DL  (Down Low) males hiding behind their masculine idenity, and enjoying their sexual life with both women and men. Can you imagine coming home to find your man sexed up in bed with his good buddy Steve. "Yes Steve!" his faithful hanging buddy o he spends all his free time with. Some women think this is some kind of normal and healthy behavior. A sure way to be suspicious about your man sexual activity is the time he spends with Steve. A real man in his right mind do not want to spend time with another man "I know I don't." All those male bonding activities are frowned upon by Real Men. Women always give men a pass when he's out with the boys...Women need to wake up and start paying attention to the signs. Here is a compiled Laundry List:
  1. Sex Life. If you finish showering and find your man on his stomach. Cheeks spread waiting for you to lick or insert something in his anal area. "Your Man might be gay"
  2. If you over hear him telling Steve."how he can't wait for the two of them to sandwich (DP) this female!" "Your Man might be gay"
  3. A man's drink says it all. If you're drinking a Jack and Coke and he orders anything with fruit floating in the drink with extra straws "Your Man might be gay"
  4. Porno. If your man can't stand the sight of 2 lesbians, because a male's penis has to be in the flick. "Your Man might be gay"
  5. Breakfast. If you're having a New York Strip and eggs and he's having yogurt with extra bananas "Your Man might be gay"
  6. The Gas Station. If you're pumping gas and your man is on the passenger side bobing his head to the tunes of Willa Smith's."Whip My Hair" Your man is gay...

  1. Okay, I'll bite. Help you start your blog. A certain percentage of black men are gay just like in any other race of men. The "DL" thing -- being in the closet -- happens because the black community seems less tolerant of openly gay men.

Obviously the deception is destructive to both black women and men. My advice is confront the issue directly but CALMLY. If "your man" is gay, then he isn't "your man" and the healthiest thing for both of you is to LET GO.

Being raised by your mother doesn't make you gay. But let's assume you're correct for the sake of argument. Then ultimately whose to blame for that? The boy who had no choice but to be born, or the woman who decided to have yet ANOTHER OOW birth? Okay? Ponder that for a few minutes. You choose to have a baby, raise the boy yourself, provide him NO positive male role models, not enforce the importance of education so he ends up in prison where he will definitely experience and adapt to homosexuality and now you wanna blog about WHAT? With OOW birth rate in the black community exceeding 60% then all can say is brace yourself. You ain't seen nothing yet.

    Good luck with your blog.

  2. I agree being raised by your mother does not make you gay.I was raised by a woman with an absent male, and I turned out fine. Agree with you a 100% "words well said." Thank your for adding to the discussion.

  3. Turning out "fine" doesn't necessarily mean turning out straight. In my family we had two parents. Definately no lack of a male role model. Maybe too much male dominance if anything. Five boys all straight except the youngest one. The one who is gay is doing fine. He lives, he thrives, he prospers. I would hate to think he'd "DL" and decieve a woman or himself for the approval of people who are in no position to jugde anybody.

  4. To anonymous. Having both parents is no safe bet to how a child turns out. I hope your brother and family the best!
